The Dancing Tree offered movement, percussion and animation workshops at the TEMESCAL Art Center at 511 48th Street in Oakland, California. In these classes we encouraged participants to define their movements which had personal meaning that reflected their daily activities, dreams, and desires. These movements became gestural vocabularies for the participants to draw from in order to create dances, animations, as well as other forms of visual art. In class and impromptu performances of personal gestures became a practice as the participants' personal gestures developed.
